Information Technology Business Analyst

Job Summary

Looking for a Business Analyst who will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the product & engineering teams, ensuring that requirements are clear, testable, and aligned with business rules while supporting the full lifecycle from discovery through UAT and production rollout.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Requirements & Analysis
  • Lead requirement elicitation for new features and change requests.
  • Translate business needs into well‑structured user stories and tasks in Jira.
  • Produce and maintain BRDs / requirement pages / change documents in Confluence.
  • Clearly define acceptance criteria (functional, edge cases, data and scheduler behaviour etc.,), following patterns used in Jira stories (e.g. timing rules, recipient logic, single‑send guarantees, content correctness).
  1. Solution Design Support
  • Work closely with architects and developers to refine workflows.
  • Clarify rules for status‑driven UI behaviour (e.g., when Actions should be available in the member portal, when expiry dates should or should not be shown).
  • Ensure design addresses known issues surfaced in QA bugs.
  • Create wireframes for UI changes.
  • Propose consistent UX patterns by referencing existing modules.
  1. Backlog Management & Documentation
  • Own and groom the product backlog ensuring stories are Properly scoped, prioritized and linked to epics.
  • Maintain traceability from requirement documents → Jira epics/stories → sub‑tasks → UAT and Production.
  1. QA / UAT Support & BA Validation
  • Collaborate with QA to refine test scenarios.
  • Execute BA verification tasks in staging environments before UAT handover
  • Validate  that functionality matches the documented requirements and mock-ups.
  • Confirm  that issues raised in prior bugs are resolved.
  • Support business users during UAT:
  • Prepare  UAT scenarios and scripts based on acceptance criteria.
  • Capture  UAT feedback and convert into follow‑up stories/bugs.
  1. Production Readiness & Post‑Release Support
  • Define and review deployment plan and BA sign‑off tasks for releases.
  • Monitor key flows post‑release, aligning with support/QA to confirm that postproduction observations are addressed.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize and triage production issues and enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. Domain & Functional
  • 3 - 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in web or enterprise applications, 
  1. Analysis & Documentation
  • Proven experience writing clear user stories & sub‑tasks with robust acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality BRDs, change documents, mock-up aligned specs and to maintain them in Confluence with supporting links.
  • Comfort with SQL‑level thinking for analysis and validating data conditions with developers/DBAs.
  1. Tools & Platforms
  • Hands‑on experience with:
  • Jira  Software for backlog management, sprint planning, and linking  epics/stories/bugs.
  • Confluence (or equivalent) for requirements and change documentation.
  • Familiarity with multi‑environment workflows: QA, Staging, Production, including BA and UAT validation.
  1. Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills to work with US‑based client stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Ability to challenge and refine requirements, highlight gaps, and propose options.
  • Attention to detail and ownership mindset—especially around closing the loop from requirement to UAT to production behaviour.
  1. Nice‑to‑Have
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Memberships, online payments & dues, certificate expiry & renewal, data sync  between different databases, application integration with Salesforce.
  • Notification  life cycles (event triggers, scheduler‑based jobs, one‑time vs repeat  notifications).
  • Status‑driven  workflows (Pending / Approved / Rejected / Expired / Lapsed) and their UI impact.
  • Audit  and logging needs.
  • Experience with labour union / trade association systems or certification programs.
  • Exposure to .NET / SQL Server environments or similar enterprise stacks.

Education

Bachelor’s  degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related  field; or equivalent practical experience.
